Chet Lyons is the founder and principal of Energy Strategies Group (ESG), a Boston-based consulting firm that specialises in providing strategy advice to battery manufacturers, utilities, project developers and investors in the energy storage industry. ESG also develops energy storage projects. Lyons has over 25 years of experience in the development and successful commercialisation of advanced energy technologies, including 40 megawatts of grid-scale storage projects. During his career, Lyons has held senior management positions at DNV Energy & Sustainability, Beacon Power Corporation, American Superconductor, Evergreen Solar, Energy Resource Associates and Johnson Controls. Lyons’ research, writing and speaking engagements on energy storage have made him a highly respected analyst and influencer.
